"Back to My Dream"

With "Back to My Dream," Manu Chevalier takes us on a journey through the 80s West Coast pop-funk atmosphere, while adding a modern twist. Inspired by icons of that era such as Hall and Oates and Michael McDonald, this new song follows in the footsteps of timeless classics, combining catchy melodies with polished production. Manu Chevalier himself composed, arranged, and produced the track, showcasing his musical expertise and versatility as a complete artist.

"Back to My Dream" flawlessly blends groovy, light sounds from synths and funky basslines, reminiscent of contemporary tracks like Breakbot's "One out of Two." The result is a song that feels both nostalgic and unmistakably modern, with vocal harmonies and danceable rhythms that invite listeners to escape. With this track, Manu Chevalier once again demonstrates his talent for reinterpreting iconic styles while injecting his own musical sensitivity.

"Back to My Dream," available on October 25, is a true invitation to dive into a rhythmic, vibrant, and joyfully retro dream.

Who is Manu Chevalier?

Originally from Marseille, Manu Chevalier is a passionate musician, performer, composer, and producer. He collaborates with artists from diverse backgrounds, always in pursuit of harmonious balance.

Born into a family of musicians, Manu Chevalier was immersed in the art from an early age. His sisters are teachers, his mother teaches piano, so it was only natural for the young Manu Chevalier to develop a strong interest in music. He began learning drums and music theory before stepping away from it for several years.

At the age of 27, after discovering bossa nova, particularly through Stan Getz, he decided to learn the saxophone. This instrument became a true passion for the future artist, helping him further expand his musical culture.

Manu Chevalier explores multiple styles. Initially, he was strongly drawn to jazz and bossa nova, but soon he delved deeper into soul, funk, disco, and various other musical genres. His art eventually became highly eclectic.

After engaging in several musical projects, Manu Chevalier pursued studies at the IMFP school in Salon-de-Provence, where he refined his artistic and musical skills.

Later, he joined an orchestra and ultimately decided to dedicate himself fully to composition. He further honed his craft with training at the Songwriting Academy in London, revisiting the foundational principles of his art.
