AN ARTIST BEYOND TIME
Born in 1997, Margot Zoé weaves a modern and dreamlike jazz, nourished by classical piano, vocal jazz, literature, painting, and nature. Trained at the Conservatoire of Metz under Valérie Graschaire and Pierre-Alain Goualch, she earned her DEM in jazz in 2022. Her influences range from Brad Mehldau to Esperanza Spalding, but also from Jan Garbarek to Tigran Hamasyan and Björk, reflecting her taste for hybrid universes where jazz converses with poetry, experimentation, and modernity.
Behind this musical sensitivity lies a profoundly transformative life story: excommunicated after leaving a religious community with sectarian drifts, Margot Zoé found in music a refuge, a language, a way to rebuild herself and reclaim her freedom. Her gentle, luminous voice becomes the vessel of a soul-deep jazz, destined for those who, like her, have known isolation and the path of reconstruction.

ELEVATION – A FIRST ALBUM LIKE AN INNER JOURNEY
Scheduled for December 2025, ELEVATION is Margot Zoé’s debut album: a concept project freely inspired by Richard Adams’ cult novel Watership Down, which has sold over 50 million copies worldwide.
Through 11 original compositions and 2 poems from the book set to music for the very first time, the album offers a poetic, musical, and contemporary reading of the rabbits’ journey in search of a safe haven. Themes of freedom, survival instinct, nature and its balances, as well as friendship, are explored through a sound palette blending modern jazz, European folk influences, cinematic atmospheres, and improvisation.
For this project, Margot surrounds herself with talented and supportive musicians, embracing a collective and deeply human writing process. Both accessible and ambitious, the album speaks to all audiences in search of sensitive, narrative-driven music.

A FIRST SINGLE BETWEEN EARTH AND SKY
The first single from the album, Elevation—sharing the same name as the record—will be released on September 26, 2025.
A piece of contemporary jazz with Celtic and cinematic accents, the track begins with a slow build-up—an emotional and physical ascent—before opening into a final section inspired by maloya, vibrant and dance-like. At the heart of the piece lies a poem from Watership Down, first sung with intensity, then expanded into an unexpected vocal solo that transforms the text into a luminous incantation.
Mixed in New York by John Davis and mastered by Alex DeTurk (both Grammy Award winners), the track marks a striking entry into Margot Zoé’s hybrid universe, at the crossroads of jazz fusion, world jazz, and a cinematic jazz that evokes images and emotions in motion.
