PRYZME, "TRUE STORIES… AND OTHER LIES": BETWEEN FRAGILE TRUTHS AND POWERFUL MELODIES, PROGRESSIVE ROCK WITH A HUMAN FACE
With True Stories… And Other Lies, Pryzme makes a bold yet masterful return. Four years after Four Inches, their debut album, the Rennes-based band sharpens its identity through a richly nuanced record where emotion weaves seamlessly into the complex structures of progressive rock. A sincere, ambitious, and deeply heartfelt work.

A new momentum, between heritage and renewal.
Formed in 2014 under the name Lingus, the band became Pryzme in 2021, a nod to the universe of The Dark Side of the Moon. Since its beginnings, Pryzme has cultivated a cross-genre musical approach, blending progressive rock, jazz fusion, and pop melodies, while staying true to the legacy of icons like Pink Floyd, Porcupine Tree, and Yes.
The lineup has evolved, but the DNA remains unchanged: finely crafted compositions, a quest for harmony, and a love of contrast. The recent arrival of Lucas Planque on drums and Benoît Toquet on bass brings a fresh dynamic—combining rhythmic precision with live intensity. The result: a band that keeps reinventing itself without losing its essence.

True Stories… And Other Lies : an album between introspection and brilliance.
Self-produced and mastered at the prestigious Chab Mastering studio in Paris, True Stories… And Other Lies set for release on May 30, 2025 delves into themes as wide-ranging as ecology, anger, and the need for recognition. Through long tracks structured like sonic waves, the album offers a true emotional journey, from inner rage to rediscovered light.
“End of the Anger” is a perfect example: a multi-layered piece that moves through funk, metal, scat vocals, and airy atmospheres, capturing the emotional shifts of an inner storm. At the other end of the spectrum, “Earth Song” gives a voice to the planet itself, observing humanity’s self-destruction with distant clarity a poignant and visionary ecological fable.
With Silent Place, a 12-minute soundscape, Pryzme reaffirms its love for ambitious compositions without ever abandoning melody. Each track is crafted as a living scene, carried by a clear voice, rich harmonies, and a transparent production that highlights every instrumental detail.

Progressive music… yet accessible.
This is Pryzme’s true strength: offering music that is demanding yet never elitist. The arrangements are meticulous, sometimes complex, but always in service of emotion. The band defines its style as Aero Progressive Music an aesthetic where musical density leaves room for both breath and lift-off.
Without claiming to reinvent the genre, Pryzme brings a rare sense of humanity to progressive rock. This is evident in the warmth of the vocals, the precision of the performances, and the band’s ability to build bridges between genres and generations.
